Hebron horses well on their way to recovery

LAUREL, Del. – Back in March, Changing Fates Equine Rescue took in 13 horses from that Hebron farm, horses that were extremely malnourished and neglected.

Fast forward to now and these horses are doing a lot better. The more wild horses are now calming down and trusting people for the first time in their lives while others are gaining much needed weight.

But the road to recovery isn’t done just yet.

“We like for them to be able to be walked, groomed, haltered, very strong in their social skills and then eventually they will come up for adoption. We don’t really have any at this time because we want to get to that point and feel confident for when they do go to a forever home,” explains Susan Herdegen, from Changing Fates Equine Rescue.

So it’s still a long road to recovery for these horses, but it’s also a lot of work to get them healthy again. Changing Fates is in need of donations for hay and even volunteers to continue giving the horses all the care and love they need to continue improving.
