Harrington man charged with multiple counts of theft

HARRINGTON, Del. – A Harrington man is facing charges for multiple counts of theft after he reportedly made unauthorized fuel charges in Delaware.

The investigation reportedly began in May 2018, when the victim filed a police report for a commercial gas card having unauthorized purchases on it. The victim told police that the card had been used for fuel and other items by a former employee of the business on dates and times that the card should not be in use. The unauthorized transactions reportedly occurred at the Shell gas station in the area of S DuPont Blvd in Milford, as well as a Shell gas station in Felton.

Police were also advised by the victim that 30-year-old Gerard Daub Jr. could be a possible suspect in the incident. Through business records from the victim as well as surveillance footage from the two business, Daub was positively identified as the suspect, and police obtained a warrant for his arrest.

On October 18th, officers discovered that Daub was incarcerated at the Sussex Correctional Institution on an unrelated case. Officers then executed the warrant and had Daub presented in reference to this case, where he was charged with 20 counts of unlawful use of a payment card under $1500 where victim is 62 years of age or older.
