COCKEYSVILLE, Md. – Four Talbot County public schools were recently recognized as “Character School of the Year” by the Maryland Center for Character Education at Stevenson University.
We’re told that Easton Elementary Dobson and Moton, White Marsh Elementary, and Easton Middle all received “School of the Year” recognition for their demonstration of outstanding character education initiatives, with positive results in student behavior, school climate, and academic performance.
The schools were recognized at the Maryland Center for Character Education’s annual conference and awards ceremony on Thursday, October 11th.
“It is such an honor for four schools within our county to be recognized as Maryland Character Schools of the Year,” said Tracy Elzey, Supervisor of Character Eduation. “This honor does not come without hard work and dedication. Each team has proven that they exemplify the best character education practices within their schools. Their staff and students are dedicated to displaying the 11 principles of Character Education through their fully developed comprehensive character education programs.”
