Forum held for Sussex County candidates

SUSSEX CO., Del. – George Cole, the longest serving member of the Sussex County Council, is not running for re-election for District 4 and two people are vying for his spot.

On Tuesday night beginning at 6PM at the Rehoboth Public Library,  those two candidates, Paulette Rappa and Douglas Hudson, attended a forum where they answered questions from the public.

We’re told at the forum, the candidates had five minutes to discuss their platform and after that, it opened up to audience questions.

Martha Redmond, the President of the Sussex County League of Women Voters told 47ABC, this was a great opportunity for the public to get to know their candidates.

Redmond said, “Even if you don’t want to answer ask a question of the candidate it is worth it just to see what other people are talking about and once you’re there if you say oh, I always wanted to know about this or I wanted them to further explain, you can write them down as the forum is going on.”

The seat the candidates are going for has a four-year term.

County Council District 4 runs from Henlopen Acres to Bethany Beach to the edge of Dagsboro.
