Expect detours as Seagull Century takes over
SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury University is celebrating the 30th Annual Seagull Century bike ride is set to take place this weekend.
About 5,000 riders are expected to ride out for the 100-mile and 65-mile ride. We’re told they have a participant from almost every single state, so it’s going to be a busy weekend on the road.
With that in mind, drivers should expect several detours.
Bateman Street and South Division street will be closed, so drivers can expect to be re-routed. Amy Waters, Coordinator of Seagull Century says, “We will re-route kind of by Union Church Road over to Old Pocomoke and they’ll kind of hit the rest of the route from then on out.”
Besides being careful on the road and mindful of the participants, Waters is also encouraging you to come on out to support the riders.
Late registration is still available for anyone interested, you can sign up at Salisbury University on Friday starting at 2 PM.
