Drug investigation leads to two arrests in Dover
DOVER, Del. – Two people were arrested Tuesday afternoon following the conclusion of a drug investigation in Dover.
Shortly after 1:30 PM, officers from the Dover Police Department and Delaware Probation and Parole observed two individuals leaving a home in the 400 block of East Water Street, in a vehicle as they were planning to execute a search warrant at the home.
The individuals were identified as Damir Hughes-Warren and Louella Cooper, both of Dover. Officers conducted a stop of their vehicle and both suspects were taken into custody. Cooper reportedly resisted and became disorderly during the incident.
Officers proceeded with the search warrant after detaining Cooper and Hughes-Warren, finding a stolen handgun, roughly 111.3 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Hughes-Warren was charged with possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, three counts of possession of firearm/ammo by person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen firearm, and illegal gang participation. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in default of $71,500 cash bond.
Cooper was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. She was released on $1,000 unsecured bond.
