DelDOT announces road closure beginning Oct 15th

LEWES, Del. – DelDOT has announced that US 9/Theodore C. Freeman Memorial Highway will close for a few days in order to remove a railroad crossing.

The road closure will begin at 5 AM on Monday, October 15th, as Delaware Coast Line Railroad Company will remove their railroad crossing. The construction is expected to last until 11:59 PM on Thursday, October 18th.

Eastbound traffic will detour from US 9/Theodore C. Freeman Memorial Highway to Kings Highway onto Savannah Road to Cape Henlopen Drive and return to US 9/Theodore C. Freeman Memorial Highway.

Westbound traffic will detour from US 9/Theodore C. Freeman Memorial Highway to Cape Henlopen Drive onto Savannah Road to Kings Highway and back to US 9/Theodore C. Freeman Memorial Highway.

Signage about these detours will be posted for motorists.
