Delaware State scores first win of the year on homecoming weekend
The Delaware State Hornets football team got their first win of the season on Saturday, defeating North Carolina Central 28-13 on homecoming weekend in Dover.
The Hornets took a quick 14-0 lead via two touchdowns from sophomore quarterback Jack McDaniels. They would go into the locker room with a 21-7 lead after trading touchdowns with the Eagles.
In the second half, NCCU would kick a pair of field goals to make it a one possession game, but The Hornets would close things out late on a Brycen Alleyne 76-yard touchdown run.
The Hornets will look to make it two wins in a row next Saturday, hosting Savannah State.
