Del. woman arrested on weapons charges

GEORGETOWN, Del. – A Delaware woman has been arrested after she reportedly tried to stab her boyfriend with a knife, in Georgetown.

At around 6:30 PM Sunday, Georgetown Police were called to respond to the McDonalds parking lot for reports of a woman attempting to stab a male with a knife.

When officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with the female suspect, 25-year-old Rykia Weston, of Ellendale, holding a kitchen knife.

Police discovered that the female had apparently become engaged in a verbal argument with her male partner that escalated, resulting in Weston attempting to stab him multiple times.

The male was not injured as a result of this incident. Alcohol was deemed to be a factor in the incident.

Weston was arrested for aggravated menacing, possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony, and possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited. She was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of cash bond.
