Del. man facing charges for offensive touching of a police officer
HARRINGTON, Del. – A Harrington man is facing charges after police say he offensively touched an officer.
Shortly before 4 PM Friday, officers on patrol were called to Commerce Street for a report of a male and a female walking down the street arguing. Officers found the subjects, but while attempting to speak with them, the subjects began arguing with one another.
The officer then tried to separate them, however, the male subject, identified as 20-year-old James Coleman, reportedly slapped the officer’s hand and resisted arrest.
Coleman was taken into custody and charged with offensive touching of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. He was arraigned on $5,000 unsecured bond.
