Del. drug investigation leads to three arrests
DOVER, Del. – Three people have been arrested following a drug investigation conducted by Dover Police and Delaware Probation and Parole.
Police first made contact with 28-year-old Jeremy Thompson in the parking lot of the McDonald’s located at 915 S. DuPont Highway as he was completing a transaction for MDMA (ecstasy) with 32-year-old Robert Burkhamer.
Officers also discovered that Thompson was in possession of a 9 mm handgun, 7.155 grams of heroin, and 1.55 grams of MDMA inside his vehicle. Both he and Burkhamer were subsequently arrested.
Dover Police and Delaware Probation and Parole then conducted a search of a room at the Super 8 Hotel, located at 348 N. DuPont Highway, where Thompson was reportedly staying with 24-year-old Jasmine Carter.
Officers found an additional 45.7 grams of heroin and 28.85 grams of MDMA within the room. The amount of heroin found during the investigation totaled to over 52 grams, or approximately 7,500 bags.
Both Thompson and Carter are facing numerous drug charges. Thompson is also facing several gun charges, and was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in default of $345,500 secured bond. Carter was committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Center in default of $242,500 secured bond.
Burkhamer was released on a $500 unsecured bond following a single drug charge.
