‘Dark Dover’ returning to First State Heritage Park
DOVER, Del. – A popular fall event is returning to First State Heritage Park this October.
During the ‘Dark Dover’ program, visitors will have the chance to witness chilling, true stories, and encounter characters whose legends have left behind their legacy on The Green in Dover.
Eighteenth-century judge Samuel Chew and the murdered servant Cooch Turner are just two of the ghosts set to appear on this unusual tour through The Green. Other twists will include the “Poison Candy Murder” tale, retold from the point of view of the victim’s untrustworthy husband as he tries to clear his name. The “Lonely Hearts” murder case will also be featured, adding a bit of an eerie touch to the tour.
The program will be offered the final two Fridays of the month, October 19th and 26th. The tour will run twice each evening; once at 7 PM and again at 8:30 PM. The program is expected to last one hour.
Admission is $10 per person. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, call 302-739-9194.
