Clear Space Theatre Company proposes plans for a new facility in Rehoboth
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – The Clear Space Theatre Company, that provides live theatre at the beach year round, is looking to build their brand new space on Rehoboth Avenue.
It would take over three pieces of property on 413, 415, and 417 right by the circle. They would create a larger theatre, have a classroom space, a rehearsal area, and a 28-space parking garage.
Their reason for moving is to expand because right now they are using just one room for everything. The Executive Director, Wesley Paulson says, “The idea that one room is a classroom, rehearsal, and performance space creates problems for us. It doesn’t really allow us to do what we do well and meet the needs that we have for in the future.”
Paulson says this in the early stages. They just met with the planning commission for a sketch review which is the first step.
They want to go back to the commission in November and address the questions raised. From there, if everything runs smoothly, they will submit drawings for bids and get approval.
They hope to be up and running by 2021.
