Worcester County residents encouraged to get outside for “Walk Maryland Day”
SNOW HILL, Md. – The Worcester County Health Department is encouraging residents to get out and explore the county on October 10th for “Walk Maryland Day”.
Various businesses and organizations are teaming up to sponsor several free community walks throughout the county on Wednesday, October 10th. These walks are scheduled at the following locations and times:
- Byrd Park (Snow Hill): registration and check-in will be held at 4:30 PM, with the walk beginning at 5 PM. Participants should meet in the parking lot next to M&T Bank, West Market Street, and will walk through Byrd Park.
- Berlin: two walks will be held through Berlin’s iconic downtown area, both starting at Taylor Bank. Registration and check-in for the first walk will be held at 4 PM, with the walk beginning at 4:30 PM. Registration for the second walk will begin at 4:30 PM, with the walk scheduled for 5 PM. Assateague State Park will also be in attendance with their “Scales and Tales” display.
- Cypress Park (Pocomoke): two walks are scheduled; registration for the first walk will begin at 4 PM with the walk starting at 4:30 PM. Registration for the second walk will begin at 4:30 PM, with a scheduled start time of 5 PM. Individuals will take part in a ranger-led walking tour.
