Visitors brave the rain for final day of Natl. Folk Festival
SALISBURY, Md. – The weather may have been dreary on Sunday, but that still didn’t stop loyal folk festival-goers from getting their ‘folk’ on during the last day of the national festival.
Among the many acts that took the stage, Michael Winograd & the Honorable ‘Mentshn‘ performed traditional polka music and folks were eager to listen in and explore the sounds of Poland in Downtown Salisbury.
Festival researchers told 47 ABC they were shocked at how many still braved the weekend’s weather to attend the oldest multicultural festival celebrating traditional arts in the country.
Jessica Iacona, a researcher said, “Everybody so far has had a great time, we’ve had a couple people who said they didn’t expect it to be this awesome. We were surprised at how great of a turnout its been.”
The folk festival officially ended Sunday night with the final performance wrapping up at 6:30.
If you didn’t get a chance to make it this year, the National Folk Festival will return to Salisbury in 2019.
