DELAWARE – Family and friends will be able to visit their loved ones behind bars without restrictions starting tomorrow.

The Delaware Department of Correction posted to Facebook stating that the state has lifted all previous restrictions that were set in place following outbreaks of illness in Ohio and Pennsylvania facilities. Visitation will resume without restrictions during normal hours beginning Wednesday, September 5.

The restrictions were put in place by the state beginning on August 30th and were a precautionary measure in response to the illnesses reported in Ohio and Pennsylvania prisons. Delaware had canceled visitation to all correctional facilities and restricted inmate movement in all level 5 facilities.

As of right now, no illnesses or other suspicious activity were reported from the department in relation to the outbreak in the two nearby states.
