Two people arrested following shots fired complaint

MARYDEL, Del. – Two suspects have been arrested following a shots fired complaint, in Marydel.

At approximately 1:17 PM on Saturday, Delaware State Police troopers were sent to the 300 block of Grygo Road, for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, troopers discovered that 44-year-old Anthony Jones, of Smyrna, was looking for his ex-girlfriend, who was not at the residence at the time. Before leaving, Jones fired shots at the residence. He then fled the scene in a Honda Civic.

A traffic stop was initiated after his vehicle was located at the intersection of Holly Spring Road and Willow Grove Road. Troopers made contact with the three occupants in the vehicle, including the driver, 43-year-old Angela D. Greenwood, of Clayton, Anthony Jones, and a 39-year-old Marydel man who was a rear seat passenger.

All three were then detained, and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Officers located a loaded .45 caliber handgun including six rounds in the magazine, a box of (40) .45 auto rounds, approximately 1.79 grams of crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia, inside the vehicle.

After further investigation, it was also discovered that the suspects had responded to a second residence, located in the 600 block of Equitation Lane in Felton, where Jones continued to look for his ex-girlfriend. The suspects slashed all four tires and smashed out all windows to a vehicle that was parked in the driveway at the residence.

Jones and Greenwood were transported back to Troop 3, where they each faced numerous charges. Both were arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 7. Jones was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $72,500 cash only bail. Greenwood was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Womens Correctional Institution on $26,000 secured bond.

The male passenger in the vehicle was not charged in the incident. No injuries were reported.
