HARRINGTON, Del. – Two juveniles have been arrested after Harrington, Felton and Delaware State Police Officers responded to reports of shots fired Saturday..
While on patrol Saturday evening officers from the Harrington Police Department and Felton Police Department responded to the 200 Block of Delaware Ave., after residents reported several shots being fired.
While searching a large open field behind the 200 Block of Delaware Ave., officers heard more shots being fired.
We’re told two juveniles were located hiding in a hedgerow. Both were taken into custody after finding a 20-gauge shotgun and three boxes of ammunition.
Officers say the duo fired off close to 30 rounds, shooting towards the residences on Delaware Ave. Police also determined that while one of the residents was standing outside she was hit with pellets from the shotgun blasts, fortunately no one was injured.
It was later determined the firearm had been stolen about two months ago from a home on Raughley Hill Rd. in Harrington. A second gun was also stolen from the property, but has not been recovered.
Harrington Police charged both juveniles with Reckless Endangering First Degree, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Conspiracy Second Degree, Receiving a Stolen Firearm and Third Degree Trespassing.
The Delaware State Police also charged the juveniles with offenses relating to the stolen guns.
Both were arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to the Stevenson Juvenile Detention Center in default of $22,100 secured bond.
