Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Milford
MILFORD, De. – A morning traffic stop in Milford leads to two arrests.
Thursday morning, around 8:32 AM, a Milford Police Department Officer was on routine patrol when they observed a gray 1996 Chevrolet Capri traveling eastbound on Northwest 10th Street.
After conducting a registration check on the vehicle, the officer learned that the registration was suspended, and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle near the 900 Block of North Walnut Street, in Milford.
The officer made contact with the driver, 32-year-old Kevin Woods, of Bridgeville, and the passenger, 24-year-old Marshay Johnson, of Dover, and discovered that Woods’ driver’s license was suspended. The officer also observed drug paraphernalia located in the driver’s side door. Woods and Johnson were then detained, and a search of the vehicle was conducted.
Found inside the vehicle was a loaded Burgo .38 caliber special revolver, 386 bags of suspected heroin, 18.4 grams of cocaine, 3.9 grams of crack cocaine, 5.1 grams of marijuana, naloxone pills, and suboxone strips. A digital scale, other drug paraphernalia, a large sum of money, and several types of ammunition were also found inside the vehicle.
Woods and Johnson were transported back to the Milford Police Department, each facing numerous charges. Woods was committed to the Department of Corrections in default of $98,102 secured bail, and Johnson was committed to the Department of Corrections in default of $39,600 USC secured bail.
Both have been ordered to appear in Kent County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing, at a later date.
