Town of Laurel to host informational meeting with DelDOT

LAUREL, Del. – Laurel residents are invited to attend an upcoming meeting addressing the scheduled closing of a local bridge.

The town has recently learned that additional repairs need to be completed on the Poplar Street Bridge, with the bridge is scheduled to close on October 8th and remain closed through October 22nd.

The Central Avenue Bridge, the main route through the town, is also currently closed due to construction. If the Poplar Street Bridge closes as scheduled, two main bridges connecting the north and south sides of town would be closed simultaneously.

Town officials are hosting a meeting with DelDOT to discuss these scheduled bridge repairs on Tuesday, October 2nd, beginning at 5 PM. The meeting will be held at the Laurel Public Library, and all residents are encouraged to attend.
