Today’s Forecast: September 10, 2018

Skies will remain mostly cloudy tonight with a few showers and lows in the mid 70s. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy and warm in the mid 80s with scattered afternoon storms. Skies improve a bit on Wednesday to partly sunny and an isolated chance of a storm, while keeping the thermometer in the mid 80s. The rip current threat will remain high throughout this week as Florence nears the US.

Delmarva begins to see the 1st impacts of Florence by Thursday with breezy winds similar to what was experienced yesterday, under mostly cloudy skies, scattered storms and temperatures in the low to mid 80s. The breezy times will continue into Friday while keeping skies mostly cloudy with scattered storms and highs in the low 80s.

Florence is likely to stall out in the Carolinas, so conditions experienced in the late week will likely carry over into the weekend. Saturday and Sunday will likely consist of the same with breezy winds, mostly cloudy skies, scattered storms and highs in the low 80s. Florence’s influence could linger into Monday, while bringing Delmarva more unsettled times with breezy winds, mostly cloudy skies, scattered storms and readings in the lower 80s.

The recent models have shown Florence stalling in the Carolinas after landfall, impacts on Delmarva will vary somewhat from north to south. The likeliest area to see the rainiest and breeziest conditions from Florence would be south of Salisbury and improving towards the north. Stay tuned for updates on Florence as the models and forecast track keep changing as it nears the US.

Have a great night!
