Thousands of visitors expected for 2018 Sunfest

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The town of is gearing up for their annual Sunfest event, which runs this year from Sept. 20-23.

It’s the 44th year of the town’s biggest festival that focuses on food, fun, live entertainment and crafts. The best part is that the event is free and open to the public. Officials and businesses say that Sunfest is a great economic driver for the tourist driven town, as summer dies down.

“They can expect great weather, great entertainment and I think the outdoor entertainment will be a lot of fun with this weather. Great food of course. Arts and crafts. It’s recognized as one of the best shows of its kind in the whole country. So I think it’s going to be a great weekend,” said Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan.

The festival kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 20 in the Ocean City inlet parking lot with events happening through Sunday. Some of the main entertaining acts include a Tina Turner tribute band, the Cadillac Three and Daughtry.
