SPCA offers sneak-peek at new Rescue and Rehabilitation Center
GEORGETOWN, Del. – The brand new state-of-the-art facility opening soon is another step in helping local animals find their forever home.
The Brandywine Valley SPCA introduced its brand-new Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.
Walter Fenstermacher, Dir. of the BVSPCA in Delaware said, “This is focusing on animals that are most at risk in our community and the surrounding areas.”
Helping the most at-risk animals, the new facility is an extra measure to give animals a chance to live long and happy lives and ultimately prevent animal euthanization.
Linda Torelli, Dir. Marketing for the BVSPCA said, “The goal of the center is to help the most vulnerable animals so when you look at dogs that might have a bit of a behavior challenge, we’re going to bring them to this center to get much more comfortable to be ready in a home.”
The rescue and rehab center welcomes victims of even the worst circumstances, including abuse, neglect, and/or behavior challenges.
The BVSPCA welcomes these victims because they tell 47 ABC they believe every animal deserves a chance at recovery.
Fenstermacher says the organization has helped animals that are victims of cruelty cases, those with behavioral concerns, and animals that may have been in an area struck by natural disaster.
Whatever the reason is that these animals are brought there, its the SPCA’s ultimate goal to make them happy and healthy as quickly as possible to send them back to shelters to be adopted.
Fenstermacher said, “We’d like to be able to take animals from each of our shelters, bring them down here to be rehabilitated.”
