Salisbury man sentenced following drug charges
SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man is facing 20 years in the Maryland Division of Corrections following probation violation and drug charges.
On September 10th, 37-year-old Johnathan Olin Lewis was sentenced to a total of 20 years for violation of probation on a 2012 conviction of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, along with new charges.
The new charges stemmed from a high speed chase that took place on July 15th, 2017, in which Lewis and another man reportedly fled from a DUI checkpoint located on Nanticoke Road. Police noted several items thrown from the vehicle during the chase, including baggies of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana, all pre-packaged for sale.
Lewis later fled from police on foot before he was caught and found in possession of over $300 cash.
