Salisbury man pleads guilty to first degree rape

SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been convicted of First Degree Rape.
On August 28th, 64-year-old Ellsworth L. Millington pled guilty to one count of 1st degree rape. The guilty plea was accepted by the Honorable S. James Sarbanes, Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court for Wicomico County, and sentencing was delayed pending a pre-sentence investigation.
The charges date back to April 2018, when several Salisbury Police Department (SPD) officers responded to Peninsula Regional Medical Center on a report of a sexual assault that took place in the area of Vine Street in Salisbury. After further investigation, it was revealed that the victim, a 76-year-old female suffering from dementia, was raped and assaulted by Millington after she wandered off from her residence.
