Salisbury man arrested on drug and gun charges

SALISBURY, Md. – A local man was arrested for possession of a loaded handgun and narcotics early Saturday morning.

At approximately 12:10 AM, Salisbury Police officers were conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle near the area of Delaware Avenue and Route 50 in Salisbury, when they discovered a loaded handgun inside of the vehicle. One of the occupants of the vehicle, 33-year-old Richard Lee Freeman, was subsequently placed under arrest for possession of the loaded gun. Officers also found an undisclosed amount of cocaine located on Freeman.

Freeman has been charged with possession of ammunition/firearm as prohibited person, possession of a handgun, possession of cocaine, and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.
