Republican wins nomination for Del. State Senator District 17

DELAWARE – Voters in the First State nominated Justin King as the Republican candidate for State Senator District 17 on Thursday.
King won the nomination with about 67 percent of the vote compared to Donyale Hall who received 33 percent. King will face off against Democrat Charles “Trey” Paradee in the November general election.
King is the current Mayor of Camden and has a military background. He attended Hargrave Military Academy High School in Chatham, Virginia and went on to each a Bachelor of Science Degree in criminal justice at the University of Wilmington.
From 2004 – 2009, King was a member of the Camden Police Department. He became Vice Mayor for Camden in 2010 and has served as Mayor for two terms.
Paradee has represented the 29th District in the Delaware House of Representatives since 2012.
Paradee attended the University of Delaware and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in business and technical writing. He went back to earn his Masters of Business Administration in 1998.
In 2003, Paradee opened an Edward Jones Investments in downtown Dover.
