POW-MIA chair dedicated at veterans home
Delaware’s soldiers who remain unaccounted for were honored with a new special chair Saturday.
The First State has 122 soldiers listed as either Prisoners of War or Missing In Action, and the chair dedicated, located at the Veterans Home in Milford, serves as a permanent reminder of those heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This is just one of 27 chairs in Delaware honoring the P.O.W. and M.I.A. soldiers.
A chapter of the Rolling Thunder from New Jersey is responsible for the program. Their goal is to account for all 82,000 soldiers across the country whose fate is unknown, and to help with veterans quality of life.
“It reminds them, every single time they see it, that there’s 82,000 families out there, 82,000 families with no answers, who have no idea what happened, and are still asking questions and holding vigils today,” said Charlie Webster, president of New Jersey Chapter Two of the Rolling Thunder.
We are told five more chairs will be dedicated next week in The First State, including one at the First State Academy in Clayton on Friday at 9 AM.
