Police Department turning pink for Breast Cancer research
Breast Cancer Awareness month is just around the corner, and that means local police departments are gearing up.
In Milford, the Police Department is going to pink to help spread awareness, and as part of their campaign they are offering. Shirts, hats, even patches for sale, and all of the proceeds go to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.
This initiative started three years ago when Chief Brown challenged his officers to get more involved in the community.
“We look at it as we have a platform through our social media followers and the people that we speak with all the time that we can help community organizations in our own little way… Although it may be small part of what their mission is, we’re proud to be a part of it,” said Sgt. Robert Masten, the Milford Police Department public information officer.
If you want to help out the cause and purchase some merchandise you can visit the Milford Police department online, or you can walk into their office from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday thru Friday.
