Perdue’s food truck honoring ‘Hunger-action’ month

SALISBURY, Md. – Folks lined the parking lot outside 47 ABC’s studio on Saturday to get their hands on delicious chicken dishes offered at Perdue’s food truck.

However, they didn’t have to feel guilty snacking on that savory grilled chicken sandwich.

In honor of hunger-action month, all of the proceeds from purchases of Saturday’s menu items were sent over to the Maryland Food Bank in an effort to end hunger throughout the state.

Perdue hopes other organizations will jump on board with the food bank to fight hunger not only in our area, but across the country.

Jonathan Combs, the chef manager of the truck said, “We’re trying to be a role model for others by being able to help and give back to the hungry and try to [stop] the issues that we’re having.”

Combs also said, “Every last red cent we make from $5 to $5,000, we give 100 percent of all the donations we receive.”

The Perdue chicken truck will be around throughout the festival if you didn’t get a chance to try the classic grilled chicken sandwich or the zesty chili lime wings or many other chicken dishes the truck has to offer.
