Officials: Man burned after fire in Wicomico County

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md. – A man was injured after officials say an accidental fire happened in Mardela Springs.
The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal says on Tuesday, around 1:15 PM, a fire happened inside of an outbuilding on Marsh Road. Officials say Mardela Springs Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire. Authorities report that the estimated to loss is valued at $3,000.
According to the report, a man was burned as a result of the incident and he was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for initial treatment. Officials say the victim was then taken to Bayview Burn Center for future treatment.
Fire officials report that the preliminary cause of the accidental fire was due to the failure of a running generator.
