Natural Wildlife Refuge Week event coming to Chincoteague

CHINCOTEAGUE, Va. – The public is invited to celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week at a popular Eastern Shore wildlife refuge.

On Saturday, October 6th, Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge is offering a series of events and activities for visitors to learn more about the wildlife found in some of the country’s nicest wildlife areas.

From 10 AM to 3 PM, visitors will be admitted to the refuge free of charge to enjoy a variety of family-friend activities and exhibitors.

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about pollinators, local barrier island history, bee keeping, and much more. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will also be present with their “Scales and Tales” program, featuring a live animal presentation.
