Maryland Traditions Folklife featured at National Folk Festival

Salisbury, Md.– 47 ABC’s Erica Murphy was joined by Chad Buterbaugh who is a program Director at the Maryland State Arts Council and will be assisting with the National Folk Festival in Downtown Salisbury.

The Maryland Traditions Folklife program focuses on living cultural traditions and community based cultural practices that you learn by example or word of mouth.

Buterbaugh says you can expect to see a gospel quartet music from Dorchester  County, skipjack captains from Somerset County, crab picking, produce stands, Smith Island cake etc.

He says that these exhibits will highlight “parts of the cultural fabric of the lower Eastern Shore.”
