Lewes searching for Christmas Tree donor for annual tree lighting celebration
LEWES, Del. – The Lewes Parks & Recreation Commission is looking to continue a holiday tradition they started last year.
The city is searching for a donor of a 30 to 40 foot evergreen tree, between the areas of Bethany and Broadkill Beach, for use in the city’s annual Christmas Tree lighting celebration that will take place on Saturday, December 1st.
The new tree will be placed in Zwaanendael Park, located along King’s Highway, next to the Zwaanendael Museum.
Ideally, the donated tree would be a Spruce or Douglas Fir. The generous donor(s) of the selected tree will be recognized during the annual tree lighting celebration.
If you think you may have the perfect tree and would like to donate, you are asked to contact the City Parks & Recreation department at 302-645-7777 ext. 100. Arrangements will be made to have the selected tree taken down and transported to the city park.
