Indian River defeats Central for their 6th win of the season

The Indiana River Indians took down the Sussex Central Golden Knights 2-1 this afternoon, the win improves IR to 6-1 on the year. After the loss, the Lady Knights drop to 2-4.

After a scoreless first half, the Indians opened up the scoring two minutes into the second behind a Rylie Cordrey goal from 20 yards out. Just 12 minutes later, they would get another from Brynn McCabe to go up two scores.

With time winding down in the game, Central would make it a game. With the goal filled with IR defenders, Bayleigh Perdue would take the shot and get it past the keeper to make it a one score game with three minutes to go. A comeback would not happen for the Lady Knights as they drop their fourth straight to IR     2-1.

Indian River will look to continue their winning ways when they take on Delmar next Thursday the 4th. Central will look to get back in the win column this Saturday the 29th when they take on Delmarva Christian.
