Emergency officials offer hurricane preparedness tips during continued hurricane season

SALISBURY, Md – While we can’t tell for sure if we’ll feel the effects of Hurricane Florence, emergency officials say it’s never to early to be prepared. Currently we are still in the midst of hurricane season which isn’t expected to end until November. Officials say everyone needs to be prepared for the unexpected. And that means you should have extra flashlights on hand and emergency plans in place because it could ultimately save your life.
“It’s very important for us to monitor the storm because that’s five days that we could be seeing a major impact .Now what should our citizens do? They should be prepared and they should be prepared and the very first thing is having your emergency supply kit which consists of supplies of a minimum of three days which would be bottled water, a bottle of water for every member of your family, don’t forget your pets, and also non-perishable foods,” said Director of Wicomico County Emergency Services David Shipley.
