Crisfield residents react to flooding, bracing for more rain

CRISFIELD, Md. – Excessive rain over the last few days has caused severe flooding. 47 ABC meteorologists say the rain isn’t going to let up the rest of the week.

So, residents in Crisfield are hunkering down to prepare for high water.

Sunday morning Shore Transit had to temporarily suspend service in the area due to high levels of water in the road from Sunday night’s storm.

Service has since resumed but with more rain on the way, there could be more trouble later this week.

One resident, who tells us he’s used to the floods, shares some tips on what to do versus what not to do during flood conditions.

David Smart said, “We bought water, some staples and nonperishables. We live on a high house.”

The town of Crisfield does have service centers that are open where you can go and stay during times of severe weather events if you must evacuate your home.
