Suspect surrenders to police without incident

DENTON, Md. – A recent barricade situation that began Monday afternoon in Caroline County is now over according to the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials in Maryland evacuated residents in the area of the 700 block of Gay Street in Denton as they barricaded a home with a suspect inside who was refusing to surrender.

According to the report the suspect has surrendered without any further incident.

Authorities have not released any further information at this time regarding the identity of the suspect or about the surrounding circumstances.

DENTON, MD. – Authorities in Maryland have placed a perimeter around a home on the 700 block of Gay Street in Denton.

According to the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office units from their Patrol and Criminal Investigation Divisions, along with the Denton Police Department and the Caroline County Narcotics Task Force, are actively on the scene at a home where a suspect is inside and refusing to surrender.

Officials have evacuated the nearby residents and are urging people to avoid the area.

The Caroline County Board of Education has been advised in regards to the bus routes being modified for the safety of all parties involved.
