Bordeleau Winery seeks volunteers to help pick grapes before storm hits
EDEN, Md. – With the impending storm coming, officials at the Bordeleau Winery are looking for volunteers to help them pick grapes before the storm hits. Tom Shelton the owner of the winery says too much rain can be a problem for a vineyard. He says the extra rain can cause mold due to the excess moisture which can affect the grapes’ sugar content. That’s why he’s looking for volunteers in the area to help him pick as many of the grapes they can before Thursday.
“We’re trying to get more people so we can get that done faster. You get ruptured berries, you get moles or fruit rot that come about and the fruit can quickly deteriorate to the point that the quality of the wine is impacted,” said Shelton.
If you’re interested in volunteering to help the Winery pick these grapes you can contact the winery directly at 410-677-3334.
