Wicomico County man arrested on drug charges; investigation ongoing
SALISBURY, Md. – A stolen gun was found at a Wicomico County man’s residence after police say he was arrested on drug charges on Sunday afternoon.
The Salisbury Police Department says around 3:00 PM, officers received a call to respond to the area of 1008 Adams Avenue for a report of controlled dangerous substance activity and two suspicious men behind the building. Once on scene, officers noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the back of the location. Police say they then encountered 23-year-old Wesley Hodge Jr.
According to the report, the Salisbury man was in possession of an undisclosed amount of cocaine and marijuana. Hodge was then taken into custody.
After further investigation, officers executed a search and seizure warrant at Hodge’s residence. Law enforcement says they located additional narcotic paraphernalia along with a 9mm revolver style handgun. Police report that the gun was discovered to be reported stolen out of Harbeson, DE.
Hodge was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, possession of controlled dangerous substance within a school zone.
Salisbury PD says they have been in contact with Delaware State Police as they continue their investigation into the stolen handgun. This is an ongoing investigation.
