UPDATE: Eighteen-year-old victim identified after fatal high-speed crash in Del.

A crash remains under investigation after troopers identified a woman who was killed in a high-speed crash in Delaware.

Delaware State Police say on Monday, 18-year-old Miranda Daugherty of Laurel was identified as the victim in a fatal crash that happened on Sunday morning. Troopers say around 2:53 AM, the 18-year-old driver of a Kia Optima was killed in a single vehicle crash on Fire Tower Road, approximately .4 miles north of U.S. 9 (County Seat Highway).

According to the report, the Laurel woman was traveling northbound on Fire Tower Road, when she approached a sharp curve, over corrected the turn, and lost control of the vehicle. Authorities say the vehicle then slid off the roadway and hit a tree.

This crash remains under investigation by DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit.
