Serious two-vehicle crash remains under investigation in Wicomico Co.

A person was taken to a local hospital after troopers say a serious crash happened on Tuesday morning in Fruitland.

Maryland State Police are investigating a serious accident involving a Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) work truck and a car. Troopers say around 9:30 AM, the crash happened on Route 13 near the Crown Sports Center.

According witnesses, the MDOT work truck was parked in the median doing some roadwork, when a white car smashed into the back of it. 47ABC’s Brooke Butler reports that the entire front end of the white car was completely destroyed in the accident.

Troopers report that the driver of the car was taken to the hospital. There is no word on the individual’s condition at this time.

The roadway is now open. This incident remains under investigation by MSP.
