Series of community conversations held to help get resources to those in need
The Wicomico County NAACP held its first in a series of conversations to help get resources to the underserved.
Three community activists were on hand at the Chipman Cultural Center to discuss resources their organizations offer.
Officials with the NAACP tell us they hope these conversations can help the youth to get resources for anything they need, such as food.
The hope is conversations like these can help get local children moving in the right direction.
“We’re hoping to get more young people involved, but also were hoping to get more grass roots people involved in what’s going on in the community. Where to go to help them be successful,” said Mary Ashanti, the president of the Wicomico NAACP.
There’s no set schedule for the next meeting in this series, but the Wicomico NAACP will be updating on their Facebook page.
Next month’s meeting at the Chipman Cultural Center will be a forum for candidates for the Wicomico Board of Elections.
