Salisbury man arrested on drug charges
SALISBURY, Md. – A man was arrested after deputies say cocaine was found in his vehicle in Salisbury.
The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says on Monday, a deputy responded to the Royal Farms store in the 7900 block of Royalty Way for the report of a suspicious subject in the parking lot. Once on scene, deputies say the individual was identified as 39-year-old Brad Lewis. Authorities say the deputy noticed that the Salisbury man was pacing in front of the store while slapping the the ground.
Law enforcement reports that they suspected that Lewis was under the influence of drug due to his mannerisms and his repeated changing of his story. According to the report, Lewis showed the deputy where his vehicle was located, but he told the deputy he was locked out of his car. WCSO says the deputy then noticed that the window was down far enough for the deputy to reach in and unlock Lewis’ car for him.
Authorities say a probable cause search of Lewis’ vehicle was conducted and it resulted in the discovery of cocaine. Deputies say a search of Lewis revealed a smoking device.
Lewis was arrested and charged with possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was later released on his personal recognizance.
