Powerful local documentary makes big screen premiere

FRUITLAND, Md.  – A very important documentary about child sex abuse in the African-American community and its effects filmed right here on the eastern shore Friday afternoon at the Black Diamond Lodge in Fruitland.

The film follows eight women, while focusing on Wanda Morton Palmer, her struggles and her campaign, the #ProtectOurChildrenCampaign.

This documentary premiere is 11 months in the making, and uncovers a very sensitive topic that many times is brushed under the rug.

The creators hope this film will accomplish its two main goals.  To show victims that there are ways to get the help they need, and to begin the conversation, a conversation long overdue.

“Number one, it is real.  Number two, it is a conversation starter.  And information so that people can get help if you’re suffering from this situation, whether you’re a child or an adult,” said Oasis, an executive producer for End The Silence.

This film, shot completely on the eastern shore, will also be premiering next Thursday at the Senator Theater in Baltimore.

We’re told End The Silence will be shown throughout the nation to spread the message of the hashtag protect our children campaign.  It will soon be streamed online.
