Police: Suspects stole guns, spoons, and other items during Del. burglary

Three Delaware men were arrested after troopers say they were involved in a burglary that happened at a 95-year-old woman's home.
Delaware State Police say 27-year-old Ethan A. Mulford of Seaford, 27-year-old Mark J. Smith Jr. of Georgetown, and 32-year-old Matthew R. King Jr. of Laurel were arrested in connection with a burglary that happened on July 21. Troopers say just before 5:30 AM that day they were dispatched to Old Furnace Road for a report of a burglary. Once on scene, police say a 95-year-old female victim reported that she was awakened in the middle of the night by a person standing in the doorway to her bedroom. As the victim proceeded out of her bedroom, troopers say she encountered a second suspect and both immediately fled.
Law enforcement reports that the suspects entered the home by prying open a window on the screened in porch, causing damage to the screen and frame. According to the report, the suspects stole two rifles, a set of spoons, the victim's credit and debit cards, a jar of change, a jewelry box with assorted jewelry, and her emergency medical alert transponder.
Authorities say Mulford turned himself in to Troop 4 on Tuesday. Mulford is charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, burglary first degree, possession or control of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of burglar tools, theft of a firearm (2 counts), theft under $1500 where a victim is 62 years of age or older, conspiracy second degree, theft by false pretense, falsifying business record, selling stolen property, and criminal mischief. He was turned over to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $106,100 secured bond.
Smith was arrested at his home on Old Furnace Road. Smith was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, burglary first degree, possession of burglar tools, theft of a firearm (2 counts), theft under $1500 where a victim is 62 years of age or older, conspiracy second degree, theft by false pretense, falsifying business records, selling stolen property, and criminal mischief. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $14,200 secured bond.
On Tuesday, police say King was arrested at his home on Oak Street in Laurel. King was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, burglary first degree, possession or control of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of burglar tools, theft of a firearm (2 counts), theft under $1500 where a victim is 62 years of age or older, conspiracy second degree, and criminal mischief under $1000. He was turned over to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $103,100 cash only bond.
