After a two-month long drug investigation, more heroin is off the streets of Dover. Two people were arrested Thursday after police found over 3,000 bags of heroin.

This was a joint investigation by The Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit and the Dover Police Department Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit.

Police say that around 9:30AM they stopped 27-year old Eric Johnson along Route 13.

After giving officers a false name, they searched his vehicle and found 1,326 bags of heroin (9.292 grams) and over $600.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

A search warrant was also conducted at an apartment that he was known to frequent. There they found over 2,210 more bags of heroin (15.47 grams) and over $2,000.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

The homeowner, 28-year-old Maurita Guzman, was taken into custody without incident.

Both Johnson and Guzman face a number of drug charges including possession and conspiracy. Johnson was committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center while Guzman was released on bond.
