Police search for suspects in connection with counterfeit fraud investigation
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Authorities are issuing a fraud crime advisory after police say two suspects used counterfeit money at Rehoboth Beach businesses.
The Rehoboth Beach Police Department says on August 25, officers responded to multiple retail stores located along the Boardwalk and in the first block of Rehoboth Avenue as retailers discovered that they had conducted transactions and received counterfeit one hundred dollar bills.
According to the report, it was reported that two men were involved in the counterfeit incidents. Police say they are attempting to identify the suspects in the photo above.
Authorities warn local businesses to check all large bills for fraud following these recent incidents.
Police say the following counterfeit bill with identical serial numbers was used in each of the counterfeit incidents.
