Pocomoke drawbridge will be complete on schedule

We have some good news for Pocomoke City!

Repairs for the drawbridge over the Pocomoke River are almost complete. This two-week project is right on schedule and they should be done by Friday.

The State Highway Administration has added a new interlock system to make sure the bridge continues to operate smoothly. SHA didn't want to do construction during the summer season, but the bridge needed repairs as soon as possible.

The city manager, Robert Cowger Jr., tells us this century old bridge needs to stay maintained to make sure traffic runs smoothly.

SHA tells us this should have been a month-long project, but they were able to knock it out in two weeks due to 14-hour day shifts.

The drawbridge should be open by noon Friday.
