No one injured after crash at Wicomico Co. post office; investigation ongoing

SALISBURY, Md.  – A crash remains under investigation after officials say a driver crashed into a Wicomico County post office on Friday afternoon.

The Salisbury Fire Department says just before 3:00 PM, they received a call about a vehicle crashing into the post office, on E Main Street. According to witnesses on the scene, the driver  pulled into the parking lot and never stopped, accelerating over the post office parking sign and into the granite stair case.

Fire officials report that the crash resulted in a light pole being knocked over, shifting and cracking the marble steps, and a severed power line suspected of providing power to the building.

A utility official was on scene to cut off the electric and inspect the area. The line was declared as safe.

47ABC was on scene as the driver was not injured as a result of the crash and she left the scene with a close acquaintance.

This crash remains under investigation by the Salisbury Police Department.
